Interview & business photoshoot with property developers Taimh Group
Jessica from Taimh Group booked me to photography a branding shoot at their custom built house in Tura Beach. The brief was to capture portraits of Jessica and her husband and series of interior photos. The house was light-filled with high ceilings and impeccably styled so it made the perfect background for this business photoshoot.
This shoot was the Photography Package 1 - Mini which covers a one hour of photoshoot and select ten photos which are then edited. You can see a behind the scenes video from the portrait part of the photoshoot at the bottom of this blog post.
Taimh Group is an integrated retail, private equity investment and property development group. Taimh Group have redefined their original landscape of one retail sector and expanded organically over time into areas that really interested them.
If you could go back and give yourself one piece of advice when you were just starting out, what would it be?
Change your mindset on what ‘busy’ actually is and wholly become your business. No time off and missed social events are just the beginning. Hard work is always worth it.
What are the top 1-3 most effective marketing tools you use in your business and why and how? (eg. socials, email marketing, paid ads, word-of-mouth).
For one sector of our company we utilise a range of marketing tools such as radio and targeted websites. We also invest in sponsorship with entities that align with our values and have found customer engagement and brand equity increase.
How do you think your industry will change in the next few years, and how are you preparing for it?
Growth can be daunting but it often brings with it many welcome opportunities. We are familiar with having to pivot, evolve and restructure, for me that is what I love most about business.
The planning process and behind the scenes from the photoshoot
Usually I start the planning process with clients by sharing a Pinterest board so I can get a better understanding visually of what the client’s vision is. These initial images help me to understand the style, light and feeling of the photos they’d ideally like for their shoot. I’m not trying to copy this images, just use them as way for the client and I to speak to one another, outside of just words. This is because one person’s idea of modern, vintage, mood, etc might be very different - photos bridge this gap and get straight to the point.
With Jessica’s shoot she had a huge folder of screenshotted photos you’d been selecting over the years, so I put these together as a pdf for us to keep for the shoot - but it’s still the same concept as the Pinterest board.
Moodboard of ideas Jessica had been collecting - apologies for no images credits, they are unknown to me.
The behind the scenes video above shows my first setup which is capturing portraits with two studio lights and the second setup for interior photos I use just using natural light with the camera on a tripod (as I’m shooting on a slow shutter speed - the tripod stops the images being blurry/shaky in low light).
If you’d to find out more about Taimh Group via their website - that’s coming soon or you can email Jessica.
